Bosch hydrogen technologies at Hannover Messe

To produce hydrogen, Bosch is developing the heart of electrolyzer systems. The Bosch PEM electrolysis stack – or, in the future, the Smart Electrolysis Module, which will incorporate the relevant electronics – forms the heart of these systems and is a crucial factor in terms of their performance and service life. The stack consists of multiple electrolysis cells. It is here that the actual electrochemical process takes place, in which green hydrogen is efficiently produced from water, using renewable energies. To create a future-proof energy system that is independent from fossil fuels and powered by renewable resources.

Our stationary solid oxide fuel cell system is a key component in the energy mix of the future. The decentralized power system generates electricity and heat from biomethane, natural gas, or hydrogen. With an efficiency rating of around 60 percent, the SOFC system is the front-runner when it comes to electrical efficiency. What’s more, its overall efficiency climbs to up to 90 percent when the heat generated by the process is also put to use.
